I wouldn't say she shouldn't try..but I'm afraid that she would have to be very vocal in distancing herself from her father, politically. Additionally, while I believe that a woman can win the presidency, I'm not sure an admitted lesbian will be able to do it in our time. If she DID become president, her sexuality would be an issue. She would, undoubtedy, assert that it shouldn't be of any concern to the American public. Of course, such an assertion would bring the Clinton/Lewinsky debacle into light again. (Why should we ignore her sexuality when most of you villified Clinton for HIS indiscretions?)
As for Condi Rice, I don't think she has the proven political "chops" as of yet.
Perhaps if the new Democratic president in '08 has Mary or Condi as a Veep. That might work.

although id really like a woman to become president, i just don't think realistically it can actually happen in the near future.....plus, maybe a woman being president wont be a good thing....not all male presidents are great role models and leaders (take our past 2 for examples, one being a democrat and one being a republican, who have both demonstrated irresponsibility: in having sexual relations with an employee, and being married...as well as of course basically everything our current president has done and will do between his inauguration and when the new president gets inaugurated).......i would vote for anyone who i think would benefit our country......maybe having someone who isn't a white, protestant, heterosexual male is a good thing......having a different perspective may be a great change for the American society and our expectations of everything.......Mary, i say go for it.......although i would make sure the image people have of the current vice president is not at all mixed in with your image....it might screw up your chances

It would be a waste of time for her. She wouldn't have a chance against anyone, even Hillary. Her father's party is so against gay marriage and afraid of what it will do to traditional family values *eye roll*, that there is no way a gay man, much less a lesbian WOMAN would have a real shot at becoming President.

No she would not win. Besides, one has to be at least 35 in order to serve as president. I am not sure she is that old. I could be wrong about that though.

Anything's better than another Clinton.

Only if you want to destroy the USA faster than the war will do it anyway.

Might be interesting to see what she could do. I suppose it's up to her though.
