This guy I developed feelings for because he seem to be the kind of person that I dreamed of having and waited patiently for. We both are attracked to one another. I respect him because he is an honest guy. And let me know that he has a girlfriend. Is it a sin to still have feelings for him? Is it a sin to be his friend knowing that he has a girlfriend? I know that he really likes me. I could tell by the way he looks at me when he first sees me. What should I do?

I have been in your situation before. I wouldn't do anything right now. The last thing you need is for the girl to find out that you like the guy. You also don't want to get too attached to it, because if it turns out that he likes his girlfriend more it might hurt more if you guys did start something. I went out with a guy who i found out had a girlfriend and i was truly starting to fall for him, and then he started talking all about his girlfriend and a bunch of other things. It personally crushed me. To this day, he still keeps me a secret, and his girlfriend doen't know anything that happened between us. He even proposed to the girl that he cheated with me on and they are now getting married.

geez. Do you think it says somewhere in the bible, DO NOT LIKE YOUR FRIEND? No. This is a situation that you have to deal with. You have to make the decisions; its easy to try and leave the responsibility with a religion, but in the end your the one who has to make the choice. I think God probably respects empowered people- why else give us the power to *choose* right over wrong?The ability to think and analyze for ourselves?
I don't think its a sin. We're only human; we are programmed to have feelings. Its natural. I would look elswhere for the moment, entertain yourself and keep yourself busy with good cuases and life. If this guy really likes you, then he will come around. It just may take a while, so no sense in waiting for him.
You may feel that for your own happiness you don't want to hang around with him. ON the other hand, if you can control your feelings and just be a friend, than why not?
