It seems to me that a lot of you are down on America? I'm proud of my country; I'm proud to be American. We have great lives...and for those of you that are going to disagree with me another question for you.
What are you still doing here? Why don't you go to Mexico or Canada and live?

Fadia, healthy criticism is great. Those aren't the people I'm talking about. I'm curious about the people that HATE this country, not just complain a little here and there. That is normal, we are all human, we all complain.

There are different types of love.

Some people love America like they love Mommy- Mommy is never wrong and anyone who puts down Mommy is evil.

Some people have a more adult version of love for their country- a love that accepts all of its faults and tries to make them better. My country right or wrong- when right to be kept right, when wrong to be made right.

im proud to be an american, but i do not like the way this country is run,our government will continue to let illegal immigrants in and drain our resources, welfare and so on,we are fighting a war for free oil trade, repeat sex offenders run amok terroizing children because they get good lawyers who can defend them, our president continues tax cuts that favor the rich and put the poor a step back, our president refuses to find an oil alternitive because doing that would take money from greedy big oil and our middle east investments and vice versa, this country refuses to make health care affordable to everyone, the gay marraige card is one our president plays when things are tough, its nothing more than hate,i thought this was a free country, why would you change the constitution to protect marraige?PROTECT IT FROM WHAT? if gays and lesbians want to marry, they have just as much right as anyone else, they are americans and pay taxes......why dont we make gays ride on the back of the bus, give them thier own toilets, etc.RELIGION SHOULD NOT PLAY A PART IN MAKING OUR LAWS.shall i keep going?.......lol speedfreak

i am also proud to be an American. i am not however, proud of our current president. the man cant even pronounce words correctly, and makes up words that dont exist all the time. and he's our president????? i thought that our president was supposed to embody all that is good about america. bush embodies greed, corruption, and stupidity.

They are likely more into self-hatred and feel a need to bash.

For U.S. bashers: How about bashing the person staring you in the mirror instead.
