The Gregory Peck and Lee Remick original was far superior... This remake is an exact copy of the first film, and fails to improve the story. The acting is also mediocre, except for the evil Nanny played by Mia Farrow.

As usual, you can't beat the original. The only saving grace for the new version of The Omen was Mia Farrow. It was great to see her in this film playing a sinister character after seeing her as the innocent in Rosemary's Baby, a Roman Polanski classic.

the movie omen is a remake its like listening to a cover version of a beatles song. you might like it but really want to hear the original omen is such a terrific film, convincing, beautifully cast & with a great, raw brit gothic feel to it. the remake is a slightly glossier affair which is enjoyable enough but doesn't really take the story in any new directions. although it hints that it will.

I've seen both. The new one is rubbish, it only achieves its thrills by suddenly increasing the volume of the music for no reason.
The new Damien looks like a grumpy little brat, he doesn't seem scary at all. Very poor acting from all involved, and the movie is so sloooooooowwwwwwww.....

It's pretty good. Damien is a little bit more of the devil on this one than the original. Be warned, since the movie is not so scary, the sudden noise thrills will get you..

I have!
I've never seen the original or it's squeals, but from what others said who have, it's exactly like the original down to the script and screenplay. It was okay, it's just that they said the only thing that changed are the actors.
but i never seen the original.

I saw it when I was a kid a loooong time ago. The music/sound was more scary than the visual. Try watching a horror movie with sound off; it's not so horrifying. It is the sound that scares you.

I thought it was good a little different than the first but then again remakes are most of the time.
