Prosecutor. If a prosecutor thinks the defendant is innocent, he doesn't have to prosecute. If a defense lawyer is certain his client is guilty, he has to try to get the guy off, anyhow.

I would rather be a prosecutor. The law seems to be for the criminal as far as I can see right now. They arrest these crooks, bring them to trail and then a defense lawyer gets them off because of a technically. Most defense lawyers know that their client is guilty, but it's their job to get them off. The problem is that most times the person goes out and does the same thing again.

<< A prosecutor. They don't make as much money as some defense attorney's but can sleep at night. >>

ya think ?? even when you've withheld exculpatory evidence from the defense and know damn well that the accused is not guilty ?

Happens every day of the week .... worse than that, such prosecutors normally sleep quite well.

I don't think I'd be any kind of lawyer at all. I prefer the field of mediation. Crooked lawyers and bankers took my family for all they had and made it last 15 going on 16 years in court just to be spiteful. Luckily, we still have my parents' house. My cousin made a wise move and left law behind to go into a retail bread business. In my opinion, we are not going to have much need of lawyers after the second coming of Jesus Christ, so mediation will be the best bet then, too. But if law is your thing, I guess you have plenty of time for a career to learn what you want to learn. And I still like old "Perry Mason" reruns. Have a happy day!

that is a hard question. a prosecutor;;would be difficult knowing i was responsible for someone going to prison and they could be innocent. a defense lawyer.. would be difficult having to defend someone that is guilty. on one hand getting filth off the street would be good.. and on the other.. hand..just maybe the right intervention could change these people..and that wont happen in prison.
