1=Is it cuz of the 19 Americans killed in mogdishu in 1993?

Somalia is one of the most dysfuctional countries in the world. By remaining dysfunctional, it creates havoc in the region (Spreading violence, terrorism, crime, killing, pirates, islamic warlords crossing into other countries, etc.).

Case in point - There were pirates off of Somalia that tried to take over a cruise ship.

America, and the coalition forces left Somalia alone and Somalia still can't establish stability. America has tried to help and Somalia rejects the help .... too bad for Somalia and the people there.

In my opinion ... America is keeping its distance but will maintain safety and freedom of navigation of the ocean areas off the Somalia coast.

If the United States figures out a way to transport America and merge it with the Europe, then we would definitely be allowed to enter! Unfortunately America is in America, not Europe.

Because al queda has often made itself at home in Somalia and used it as a training ground, recruiting field and location in which it can obtain weapons for its causes. Somalia isn't a place we can turn our backs on because of al queda.

What "transistional government"? Somalia has had no recognized government in more than 15 years. It is consistantly regarded as a "failed state".

US ought to get out of that part of the world and let it sink into a bloody stinking morass. With Somalians being what they are, that shouldn't take more than a week.
