It means don't follow the famous because they are famous.
Use your own judgement; not the media's.
It has nothing to do with the Bible.

According to Noodle, "Reject False Icons means many things. 'Think for yourself' is one of them." It is often preluded with the phrase "Respect false icons," the full phrase becoming "Respect false icons, reject false icons." A generally accepted idea is that the phrase was created to show that people should appreciate things such as music and the media, but not idolize them as they would God or religion.

It is from the bible kinda.
10 comandments
1) "There is no other god beside God."
2) "My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and protect me and my children from worshiping idols."
But in the catholic church you have icons like the virgin mary. So slightly modified you still can have icons in the church. Just not the false ones.
What the Gorillaz mean by it may always remain a great mystery.

I know it's at the end of that Gorillaz song "Rock It," but what does it mean?
