If you are using boiled water and sterilised bottles, prepare a few bottles at a time with boiling water. You will probably know how much your child drinks, so fill the bottles to 80% of that amount and refridgerate (up to 48 hours). When ready to feed, add the remaining water directly from the boiling kettle and test the temperature by pouring a little onto the back of your wrist. Add the formula, close the bottle. Swirl it first a bit so that it doesnt stick into the teat, and then shake up and down very well.

This water method was the best to help me have a sterile and warm bottle without having to heat and then cool the bottles in record time! You can also serve room temperature bottles even to newborns - breastmilk is room temperature....

If you want to premix alot, do so and set in fridge. Dont prepare more than enough for 18 hours or so, as the max for formula is 24 hours and then it goes bad....

When traveling, prepare the bottles with water to the 100%, take a small container or bag of premeasured formula, and serve at room temperature....

good luck

With powder formula it is okay to mix it up a quart at a time. If the baby is on 20 cal. formula then mixing 14 scoops of powder and 28 oz. of water makes anywhere from 30-32 oz. Shake really well to get out all the lumps.

What I did with my little guy is put the water in the bottle first and I would only use cold water because the milk may go bad using anything warmer unless you are using it right away. Then I would mix 8 ounces at a time, I would put 2 scoops of powder and then shake the bottle holding the nipple closed so it didn't clump inside the nipple then put the other 2 scoops seperateley then shake again then I would pour them into other bottles using only the amount my little one would usually drink which for me was 4-7 ounces. LESS WASTE! I would keep using the same bottle for mixing then finish up by filling the mixing bottle. I would only mix enough for 1 1/2 days

I would not make so much at a time, it is more tiring but better to make it fresh...as for the mixing, I would put a little bit of liquid in and warm it just a smidge, then put in the powder, mix it up well to prevent the powder from clumping and then pur in the rest of the liquid and heat a little more, the dificult part of putting the powder in with all the liquid is that if it clumps it will be right at the top and get stuck in the nipple. Good luck

The best method I've found is to use the Pampered Chef juice pitcher (the one with the plunger that's made for mixing concentrate juices). It's lumpless! You can mix it a gallon at a time if you want to, but be sure to read the back of the formula can to see how long you can store prepared formula in the fridge. Usually it's about 24 hours.

Use warm filtered/bottled water. It helps to prevent lumps.
Add it to the bottle first and then the powder. Cap and shake well.

You should only make as much formula as your baby will drink in 1 day. But read the directions on the can. Some formulas will stay okay in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Depends on what type of formula you are using. Like baby formula is only good for 1 hour once it has been mixed. Once you put the formula and water together shake the bottle alot holding the nipple closed.

Put the water in first so it can't clump at the bottom. If you want to make a quart at a time keep it in the refridgerator for 1 day only. and shake the container up again before you use it.

I put the water in the bottle then add the powder and shake the crap out of it. It works pretty good!
Oh, noticed that someone said to put the powder in the bottle first then add water to the bottle--I wouldn't suggest doing it that way (unless you had measured out the water before adding it), the amounts wont' be right if you do it that way.

You should put the formula inside the bottle first then put some water in the bottle and heat it up on medium-low so that it doesn't burn the baby's mouth/tongue.Or just read the directions on the product that you bought.
