well... different authors write for different magazines and they would also cover different issues. the major ones will still be covered by both but it's just preference

Time tends to lead Republican, while Newsweek has a more Democratic view of the world.

One reads TIME on the cover and the other reads Newsweek.

They kinda fall into the same genre, but have different stories in each new issue. It's kinda like CosmoGirl and Seventeen, both alike, but different.
