The Latin name for the funny bone is the humerus, which sounds a lot like humorous, which means funny. The funny feeling you get is vibrations from the bone being hit.

well, i'm pretty sure it's not that "funny" if you're silly enough to knock on it. The reason why it is called "funny bone" simply because after you accidently knock it, you may have a strange feeling which makes you wanna laugh or cry out loud

I think you just answered the first part of the question yourself. It's the funny bone cos you feel funny when you knock into it.

And the explanation? I guess it's probably some nerve situated around that area gets pinched easily when you hit it.

The tingling of your 'funny bone' is actually caused when you strike your elbow and compress your Ulnar nerve, causing a 'funny' tingling sensation. Also, the nerve is very close to your upper arm bone, -get ready- called the humerus, which sounds like 'humorous'.

The funny bone actually relates to the Ulnar nerve. If you strike that nerve in a certain way, you can send a tingling sting through that part of your body.

The funny bone itself is called the HUMERUS.
