I don't know if there are verifiable records, but I do know that there are probably ten times as many people out there claiming to be current or former Navy Seals than have actually ever existed. If he's bragging about it, he's probably a fraud.

If you have some sort of Navy recruiting station or base or something near you, I'd call them. Explain that you would like to know if he is for real or not. Or a Navy Veterens group. They will most likely be happy to help you, because those who fake being Navy SEALS are not in the real Navy SEALS good graces...

Unless you have the clearance to get to personnel records, you will have to go with his word till otherwise notified. But if you still have your doubts, and you live in or near a NAVY town, there should be someone around to help you.

Sounds like you don't believe him. Should pretty much end that relationship pretty quick.
Service members' duty assignments while on active duty are kept in the service member's SRB (service record book) - and you can only view that with the service member's permission or witha subpoena.
Does he strike you as a liar? Is that why you don't believe him?

Yup, my bf/partner has some navy site he goes on. He can see where all his navy buddies are, what they are doing, so on.
