I did updated spyboot search and destroy but it says there that ad aware is a for of spyware; is that so?\
I scanned my computer with both programs and turned my computer off; but when I turned it on again hours later now is shows the yellow sign for downloads but a red one too warning me my antivirus is not running and that I am at risk of spyware but I checked and my antivirus is on and I did those scans so why is that happening? I am afraid they might have gotten into my computer already. I do not use explorer anymore I use Opera for safety but still I have this going on.\
Please help..thanks

Sounds like you have a most major issue. Like the guy said, re-run the scans (make sure that ALL of your anti-virus and spyware programs are up-to-date). After that, uninstall any programs you don't recognize the name of in the Add/Remove Programs window (in Control Panel). Keep using Opera or Firefox, as they are less susceptible to malware.

It may al;so be possible that you have a brand-new virus or Trojan.

The spyboot program is REALLY bad!!! I used that last year and it was totally wrong about my spyware and viruses, it didn't even have spyware at all. I use Norton Antivirus for virus protection and it works really well!!! I suggest that you go to stores like best buy(that's where I go), circuit city, comp usa, or stores like that and ask them what are the best prgrams to get rid of spyware, and explain them your problem! I recommend that if you buy a new spyware program but it the same brand that your antivirus program is, that way it's easier to know how they both work, again I recommed Norton Antivirus!!!

Some weeks ago I had a problem with my computer, it was slowing down and i couldn't explain why some websites where redirecting! Since I had a good (norton) antivirus system I did not think that I had spyware! , however a friend of mine came to my house and immediately told me that I had a spyware program, he entered into a site downloaded one of the free programs featured there and installed it on my computer, after running this program my computer is fast and downloading normally, whilst my homepage was also restored.

the webpage where you can find free reliable anti spyware is:

try these, all free and very effective

http://www.zonealarm.com
http://www.ccleaner.com
http://www.lavasoft.com
http://www.girsoft.com

with zone alarm, you would shut your windows firewall off and use the zone alarm firewall. There is an anti-virus from AVG that is auto update and when I find the site, I will add to this answer.

good luck..oh, the ccleaner has been downloaded over 20 million times..good program..
