How Do Goths behave?

I'm friends with many people that are considered goth and despite a few things (some sexual, some unusual depression) they act just like every other teenager does. None of them cut themselves, none of them worship satan, they're just into the look I guess.

Sure some goths might worship satan and cut themselves, but it's a person to person thing, perhaps group to group. I know personally, I dressed "punkish" through highschool and people always thought I was gonna rebel against everything in the school, but really, I was only dressing that way because that's what I thought I looked best in. Again, some of my friends that dressed like I did rebeled against everything and it's hard to get away from that, but they were still just normal kids that were into something different.

I think you'd have to make the question a little more specific if you wanted an accurate answer as to how they behave because it's probably different in every area, although I do know some from here in Wisconsin and in Canada and they're exactly the same, perhaps it's a coincidence? Could be, or they're just also thinking they look best that way like I did.

The ones in my old high school that I hung out with just watched movies and liked to go out and eat and hung out and loved to have a good laugh and listen to music and go to concerts. To be honest with you only the annoying emo-ish kids that dress in all black from Hot Topic and cut themselves and moan about how awful being a suburban kid is are the ones that act stupid and weird. Normal people that subscribe to the older generation of goths and actually listen to the music that started it (80's stuff like The Cure and Bauhaus) are pretty much normal, just dress different. And only because they like the way it looks and not to stand out or be treated differently, kind of like why someone would get a piercing or a tatoo. You do it because it does something for you and you like how it looks, period.

I'm calm, polite and daydream a lot. I'm not very confrontational and don't do things for shock value. I try to be kind to anyone who crosses my path and like everyone equally until I have a good reason not to.

Well they behave like everyone else but usually are obsessed with black, grey and loneliness.
Sometimes their wrists are bandaged extensively.
