I have swapped the rear bulbs and found that this makes no difference, the left flashes but the right does not. The 4 ways flash on both so I got a new turn signal flash unit and installed under the dash. This made no difference. Any suggestions?

Thanks. The flasher relay is what I replaced so i guess that leaves the switch. How is it accessed?

Thanks, the bulbs are fine as right one flashed in left when swapped and left no longer flashed in right. Both flash just fine with 4 way flasher activated which led me to suspect and replace the turn flasher relay.

Thanks Stu, your answer led me to the problem. On examining both sockets I noticed that the left working one had a metal clip to hold the third wire in place that was not present in the other socket. So I wiggled the third wire of the non flashing socket and it flashed !! I inserted a wood sliver along side the clipon and this held the connection in place and the flasher works normally now. Now that the answer is known I will find a proper way to secure this connection.

This happens when a bulb is burned out or when you are not making a good connection with the bulb. Are the bulbs all good on for the right turn signal? Find out which bulb is not lighting up (front, back, etc). If you swap bulbs and it's still not lighting up, check the connector contacts and wires to make sure everything is making good contact. The flasher relay is OK if the left turn signals are working. They are both using the same relay.

There are 2 Flashers-one for Emergencys & one for Driving. You need a Testlight or a multi-meter to check that you are getting 12Volts to the Socket in Question. The Turnsiginal Harness runs through the steering column & if you have Tilt Streering Wheel YOU can try putting the wheel in a different position & check if they work.BUT be sure you are not replacing the Emergency Flasher. You may have 12 volts , but you NEED a good ground also.

the turn signal one plugs instantly in to the fuse panel on that one, that is going to be a round silver looking element,if its no longer their look instantly less than the steerage column ,it should be fastened on a bracket on the bottom of it,or close to it,good success.
