Poverty is understood in many senses. The main understandings of the term include:

Descriptions of material need, typically including the necessities of daily living (food, clothing, shelter, and health care). Poverty in this sense may be understood as the deprivation of essential goods and services.

Descriptions of social need, including social exclusion, dependency, and the ability to participate in society. This would include education and information. Social exclusion is usually distinguished from poverty, as it encompasses political and moral issues, and is not restrained to the sphere of economics.
Describing a lack of sufficient income and wealth. The meaning of "sufficient" varies widely across the different political and economic parts of the world.

So what causes poverty?
I have to say lack of government support and involvment. Today many of the countries we called them Democratic are just a big lie to their people. Most politicians have hidden agendas, they promise, promise, but never deliver.

The front government and the shadow governments are responsible for all the poverty in the world. How is that? well pretty easy to figure out, you see they dont want people to have a good eduction, they teach the wrong kind of subjects at school since we are in kindergaten, they dont want us to learn to ask questions, and then when we graduate they flood us with credit to slave us economically. They also flood us with junk food to make us fat like pigs, they denie advance medicines to cure our illnesses, they hide advances in technology so that we depend on obsolete technologies that we have to pay more for and that alone leaves less money to do other things so that we have to recurred to using again more credit so that at the end we are own by corporations. Now do you see what causes poverty?

The government definitely plays a role. Think for a moment: how many governments are giving out aid to the millions living in poverty in Africa? Also, I believe that there is a precarious seesaw of money. The richer one group gets, the poorer the other gets.

I think the thing is that everyone has to "rise above" where they come from in some way, rich or poor or in-between. I'm not just talking about money..You should try to hang on to your pride whether you're rich or poor. This is just my opinion.
