This would depend on where you are located. Usually the Yellow Pages of the local phone company is your best resource. Often local rental agencies have better deals for the over 18 and under 25 age category. A good idea is to also carry a car club roadside assistance card. I recommend AAA. You do not have to have auto insurance with them to buy the card. As my vehicle aged, I purchased the extended plan: more expensive, but certainly has paid off, including a locksmith that had to key new keys for the car when mine were lost. Hope this helps

sorry charlie... Lucked out! im 20 and i've been trying to rent a car to drive down to a different state but unfortunately car companies wont rent to you until you are at least 22, more likely 25. I have searched the seven seas for companies in the United States who lend to younger drivers, but no dice. The only way they will is if it is for military reasons.

Where you live has a lot to do with this answer! Sometimes car dealerships rent out vehicles - you do have to have your own insurance however. If you call around, usually just one call will get the help you need. You might want to think about leasing a car if you plan to keep it for a while. If that is the case, then call a car dealership--Ford or Chevrolet are usually quite helpful.
Good luck and happy driving.

I rented a car from BASIC CAR RENTAL. They rent to 18 and over. Their service is second to none with new cars, great staff, and pick up and drop off services. They accomodated me in a big way and their rates are amazing (better than any other major car company). I recommend without hesitation.

This is hardly a query for Yahoo Planet when you could have known it by just turning the Yellow Page.
