Michael Jordan is a basketball player that use to play for the Bulls and then moved to playing baseball. He came out on a movie called Space Jam. He made a cologne. He comes out in a Hanes commercial with Bon Jovi. Wayne Gretzky is a hockey player. He made two games called Gretzky NHL 'o6 for Playstation 2. This is the best answer you'll get guaranteed.

If you knew about Wayne Gretzky in 1971 in any way, then why are you asking this question. He was 10 at that point and unless you are complete Hockey nut, then there wouldn't be any reason you would have heard of him.
MIchael Jordan? You don't know him? Were you dropped in a well and forgotten about? I think you are just an idiot wasting people's time. If you are going to post such worthless questions, at least do a little research first.

I'm afraid you're terribly off on both accounts. Wayne Gretzky is one of the best hockey players of today and Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players ever; he played for the Chicago Bulls.

Wayne Douglas Gretzky, OC (born January 26, 1961) is a former professional ice hockey player and is currently part-owner and head coach of the Phoenix Coyotes. Born in Brantford, Ontario and nicknamed "The Great One," Total Hockey: The Official Encyclopedia of the NHL calls Gretzky "the greatest player of all time". He is regarded as the best player of his era and has been called "the greatest hockey player ever" by sportswriters, players, coaches, and fans. Along with his many awards and achievements, he is the only player to ever have his playing number, 99, officially retired across the entire National Hockey League.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American former basketball player, considered by many to be the greatest of all time. He became the most effectively marketed athlete of his generation and was instrumental in spreading the appeal of the NBA to corporate America and overseas in the 1980s and 1990s.
Considered a remarkable force at both ends of the floor, "M.J." ended an NBA career of 15 seasons with a regular-season scoring average of 30.12 points per game, the highest in NBA history (marginally ahead of Wilt Chamberlain's 30.06). He won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls (during which he won all six NBA Finals MVP awards), won 10 scoring titles, and was league MVP five times. He was named to the All-NBA First Team 10 times, All-Defensive First Team nine times, and led the league in steals three times. Since 1983, he has appeared on the front cover of Sports Illustrated a record 49 times, and was named the magazine's "Sportsman of the Year" in 1991. In 1999, he was named "the greatest athlete of the 20th century" by ESPN, and was second only to Babe Ruth on the Associated Press list of top athletes of the century. His leaping ability, vividly illustrated by dunking from the foul line and other feats, earned him the nicknames "Air Jordan" and "His Airness."
