Can farmers supply the product? I have heard about a 10% mix the first year adding 10% a year until you reach 50% mix say in 5 years. Is this possible? If it is why aren't we doing it now?

Ethanol is not the long term answer, It actually takes more energy to produce ethanol that what is gotten from it. Also a higher percentage of mix, say 50%, would require a major change in car design as ethanol does deteriorate the rubber parts of your engine. If you are using ethanol now in your car you should have things like gaskets, pcv valve, fuel injectors, and the like checked very often.

It may have been a special fuel station, I have seen on educational TV channel a man filling up at a pump! Some day there may be all over...

Yes, but if ethanol takes off then the price of other agriculture based goods will rise, ex. food and clothing. We will not have more money in our pockets, the money we save in energy will be offset by rising prices in other aspects of our daily life.

Sure they can produce more, and while it sounds good no one knows the impacts on your engines, the emissions it produces, and how good for us it would really be.

Remember back in the 1980's when the environmentalist said put MTBE in the gasoline to burn it up....yeah that was a winner.
