I've raised two sons and when they were in there teens they reall y changed. First there are the hormonal changes they want to sleep more eat more, and shower more it's natural and the best thing to do is let them and be there for them as much as possible. Also they're trying to become adults which makes them push parents away, don't take it personally it happens to the best parents. And if they tell you something listen, the problems they face may seem trivial to us adults, but they aren't to themselves, don't try and fix their problms, unless they specifically ask just listen. Even if they act as if they want to be left alone, do something with them that they've always loved, favorite cookies, snowball fignts, help with there homework and never yell at them it's a tough age. Do you remember how you felt at fourteen? The world is much scarier now, they have lots to worry about, I just quietly waited until they came to me and they always did, when it really counted. I'm proud of them both they are so different but turned into fantastic adults with good morals and great work ethics. NEVER YELL they hate it.
