ICE = In Case of Emergency.

You put a number into your mobile phone called ICE.

If you're incapacitated, whoever helps you just rummages for your phone and flips through the numbers until they find one labelled "ICE", then calls it.

Apparently the emergency services think it's a great idea.

Yes my "ICE" number is my boyfriend. I'm pregnant with epilepsy so you can imagine I have to pay alot of visits to the hospital but it's always useful to have an ICE number in your phone.

If your question is did I already know this and did I already list one of the numbers in my phone book as ICE so there would be an emergency contact, then the answer is yes.

If your question is this isn't a question, I'm just using up bandwidth to pass along another of the millions and millions and millions of little tips that are out on the net so I can spend 5 points on Answers, then pfffft.

I think it is a good idea as you dont ever know what is going to happen.

I travel around the country every Saturday following my football team, including many trips to London. After the London bombings my dad made me put ICE numbers into my phone in case something happened to me when i was travelling. I think it is a good idea and it makes me feel more reassured when going places due to me travelling alot.

I do have an ICE number in my cell yes. I put it there a few months ago after hearing on the news that paramedics would look for that to see who to contact if you were in an accident or hurt.

I have 4 ICE numbers in my mobile.
I think it has always seemed a good idea.
My children are supposed to have ICE in their 'phones but unless I get hold of their mobiles and snoop into their numbers I can't be sure.

Yes, I actually have several in my phone so if one can't be reached, maybe another can. I have also helped/encouraged friends and family to do the same.
