the limits are higher as you earn more points. if you have to earn points to get what you want, that will make you come back and answer more questions.....so that you can earn more points......to answer more questions......to earn more points........etc....

yahoo! wants traffic to this site so they can boast their numbers to advertisers.

..but i think that limits -really- exist because Yahoo! wants us to get a little sunshine. :)

oh, and the answerer who said "...we can't trust young people to be serious..." WTF? you better check yourself before you wreck yourself!!!!11

Its to limit spam, but as you become more experienced and gain points you will be able to answer more, until you get to level 5 and above where the limits are removed. The people that are most likely to post spam will get bored before they get anywhere near the level where they can become totally annoying.
