Start renting a booth at the comic book conventions like Comicon, Wondercon and Supercon. Have your all portfolios and materials out for view and have tons of free sample items with your web addy on them to give out to browsers. That would generate some traffic to your website.

try some innovative things like first setting your site with normal and adult graphic novels free of cost and publicise it through whatever means necessary then when you get sponsors you will be able to charge about .99 dollar for one comic strip, don't forget the adult crowd, you can setup two websites then

scan it to the computer, make a website and put it on there. u can let everybody preview few part for things for free that might interst them so that if they like it they can subscribe to view full version. you can also add order form for the people who subscribe and if they want to buy the comic they can order from you.
