Well, lets just say that such a security system, as basic as it is, has many combinations. If you are trying to guess someone's password, give up. If the order of the numbers in the password matters, there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of possible answers.

Actually the math is 10 (total numbers available to be the first number) times 10 (total numbers available to be the second number) = 100 times 10 (total numbers available to be the third number) = 1,000 times 10 (total numbers available to be the fourth number) = 10,000 different ways to combine 0-9 in a 4 digit sequence.

If you forgot your combination number to your lock I would just cut the lock off. Pair of bolt cutters would do the trick. The locks can be replaced.
