Dark and very boring. We wouldn't have TV, music, a place to go without walking 20 miles, and no internet. Therefore, no cellphone and probably no way to communicate because almost all post offices have gone to machines to sort and buy stamps. How would we buy anything? Money is printed by electricity. Yep, time to get out the playing cards and find a buddy or neighbor that's willing to spend 5 hours playing poker.

I think the human race could adapt. Although it may take time. We would need to work together so the question shouldn't be would I survive, but would WE survive. I do believe humanity could form a new civilization without electricity but it would be a brutal few years adapting to it.

We had an ice storm that took down most of the power lines and poles in the county. My family and was with out power for 13 days. It wasn't that bad. We burned candles for light and used the fire place for heat and we played game in place of the T.V.
The hardest thing to deal with was getting clean water. The house is on a well and the pump used electricity to pump it. One of ower neighbors was smart and had one water well with a hand pump on it. So we hauled water over to ower place. We filled the stool by hand and warmed water on the stove for bathing.
For cooking we use a gas stove and the oven also warmed the house. An ice chest was use for an ice box.
We lost allot of food and meat that was stored in the freezer. F.E.M.A. replaced all that was lost.
