Infrared is light that has a wavelength outside the bottom of the visible spectrum--it is essentially the "colour" that occurs before red (the lowest visible wavelength).

The invisible "light" that occurs at the top of the visible spectrum is ultraviolet.

Both of them can't be seen with the naked eye, but can alter the way the eyes perceive the other--visible--colours.

The retina is made up of two types of cells: cones and rods. Cones are nerve cells that are sensitive to light, detail, and color. Cones also produce the sensation we call color. Cones contain three different pigments, which respond either to BLUE, RED, or GREEN wavelengths of light. Cones mix the color signals to produce the variety of colors we see. So if a person is missing one or more of the pigments, that person is said to be color-blind and has then difficulty distinguishing between certain colors, such as RED from GREEN.

Oh! did you say infrared??
:D

umm i see red fine, and if you mean techincally we cant "really" see red then technically no colors exist as what we percieve as colors are simply wavelengths of light that arent absorbed into an object but reflected out...

few people cant 'see' the red colour as we do....they are colour blind. actually they can differentiate red from green or blue...but they cant differentiate red from pink or orange

infrared light is invisible to human eyes....they are the heat producing rays
