No, I do not think that Salman Rushdie would ever wish to have written such a poorly written book as "The Da Vinci Code". Code is a pulp fiction book - it's poorly written and a simple murder/mystery book with an unimaginative and borrowed twist thrown in. "Angels and Demons" was slightly more tolerable than "The Da Vinci Code". "The Satanic Verses" is a well-written, provocative, and thought-provoking book that will one-day be considered a classic. After its 15-minutes of fame, "The Da Vinci Code" will whither into obscurity. The only reason it hasn't yet is because of the movie and religious freaks who forget that it is a FICTION book.

Sure do. I've read both, but Satanic Verses is so damn bored.. Da Vinci Code and Angles and Demons are books well-researched and well-ploted. Besides, there's no one issue a death sentence for Dan Brown yet.. Pick a wrong topic Rushdie. (is this how you spell his name? come to think about it is dying quickly!!)
