The governing bodies are not involved, if that helps. There is a small faction of folks who just don't understand that junk food is not supposed to be good for you. They are the ones who are causing all the fuss (probably also the same group that caused KFC to reduce the number of spices from 13 to 12, and stop calling themselves Kentucky FRIED Chicken). They want KFC to change the oils they use to something with fewer trans-fats in it.
This same, small group is going after Wendy's - and they already got to McDonald's...

They want to dictate the use of oils with lower trans-fatty acids. Supposed to help the cholesterol thing. Europe already makes them use oils tailored for that, but KFC in USA and most other Fast Foods have not found the best formula yet to do what they want and keep the taste.
Wendy's has researched this for years and in August will be implementing their new oil in all their USA restaurants. I don't think we need to legislate this kind of thing. Like Wendy's ...most companies will see the PR advantage of low trans fats and will implrement a change without any government pressure.

They use hydrogenated oils that out bodies weren't made to consume. This will all play out very soon for eveything. The food and drug administration just finished a three year study on hydrogenated oils. They found that NO level of hydrogenated oil is good for you. It kills you quicker than cigarette smoke. Hydrogenated oils contribute to all the so called natural deaths that people die of every minute.
McDonalds recently got sued by an Indian vegetarian because the secret ingredient in the french-fry oil is beef fat.

well, think of what happens to the chickens before they fry them. I would want to stop that too. Be happy and go to McDonald's and get some ChickenSelects, they taste practically the same!

KFC abuse their chicken before killing them.. it's animal cruelty.. try to look for that ... Ex: KFC would have worker to throw the chicken against the wall over and over again like a ball.... website.www.animalliberationfront.com/AR_Orgs/openrescue_org%20%20kfc%20cruelty.htm

I think it has to do with the condition that they keep those chickens in before they kill them.
