You would need a piece ofsoftware that will record from the microphone. www.download.com is a good place to start.

Be sure to adjust your audio levels so that itdoesn't come roaring through your speakers and make sureyou have Bass and Treble (if those options are available) set to the level you want it recorded to.
As aside note, most soundcards come with software that will do this - any Creative Soundcard owner can download the Creative PlayCenter direct from them.

To do this without blowing your sound card, you need to connect the "line out" ports on the casette player to the "line in" ports on the sound card.

Once that's done, go into your sound software and enable the Line-in port. When you press Play on the casette recorder, you should now hear it playing through your PC's speakers.

you'll need recording software but you may have to connect it to your line in and not your mic but rememeber to change yourecording input to line in under control panel
