Won 7 championships.....proved to the NASCAR world and all that he was and always will be a respected driver, father and friend.
One who showed everyone what a true NASCAR champ was.
Very proud of him and his son, who is following dad....I hope has a long lfe driving and being the best he can be behind the wheel!

Won the Rookie of the Year title in 1979, then won the Winston Championship Cup in 1980. The only driver to ever had won the Rookie of the Year then win the Winston cup the 2nd year. fan of #3 forever.

I saw a race several years ago before there were pit road speed limits wher Earnhart pulled off of the road and passed some cars by drivig through the grass. This might have been the reason for pit road speed limits i'm not sure about that but I am sure about the pass ,he also got out of his car one time during a red flag and did somrthing to his car and got away with it

When Dale wrecked everyone held their breath and the world hesitated. His death touched alot of people who weren't race fans and who had never seen a race.
The Air Force flew over in the missing plane formation.. They volunteered to do it ...no one asked them.
The thing about Dale was either you loved him or you hated him...but you did respect him. He inspired an authoress to write a book about him although she probably couldn't even spell NASCAR till she researched it. St. Dale is an awesome book.

Dale was one of the only drivers who could start dead last and make it to first in 5 laps... He was also the one who could pass someone going right up the middle!!!

went from a dirt poor southern hick to a rich SOB,,win 7 championships pushing anyone that was in front of him out of the way,,married a B***h left the world while a champ in a freak accident and left the world talking about him for years,,treating him as if he was some kind of GOD
