I find these plants that look like strawberry plants but the fruit is round and bright red I'm wondering if they are wild strawberrys?

I agree about not eating anything you're uncertain about, but yes, strawberries do in fact grow wildly. They also are much smaller and more round than an average strawberry. They actually look much more like raspberries than strawberries.

This should help!

Yes and yes.... to further explain......... Wild strawberries grow in many places and altitudes and are found at farious times in various locations. Bears often survive in the wild on them. They are perfectly OK to eat. Yummy with sugar...but... most are very tiny compared to the variety grown commercially and available in the stores. Happy hunting for a patch or 2...and unless its really big... don't share the secret when you find one. :)

Yep, there sure are wild strawberries. They are much smaller than domestic strawberries but very good and sweet. Eat all you want.

yes, and yes, and your description of the berries that you found could be boisen berries-(not sure of the spelling), of which taste horrible, so be positive before you taste one.
