When Ronald Reagan announced to his inner circle that he did not intend to have the U.S. co-exist with Communism, but rather defeat it outright, they must have thought he was crazy. However, Reagan was able to defeat the "Evil Empire" without firing a shot.
Now we have George Bush. Just like the case with Reagan, a lot of people don't agree with his strategy. However, we have many signs it is working: Libya has renounced its WMD program, Pakistan is now a close ally, Saudi Arabia has stopped playing both sides of the fence and is now committed to waging war against the terrorists, Syria has pulled its troops out of Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq are now legitimate democracies, and so on......
Wow...... how's that for transforming a region in the span of a few years. Such a brisk pace is unprecedented in history.
So, say whatever you want about the Bush family's personal failings, but consider the possibility that George Bush may be the one person who can transform the Middle East, just as no one else but Ronald Reagan could have changed the Soviet Union.

He has recovered from his 'addiction'(which was the result of a medical condition). "How can this man be the leader of the conservative movement and de facto Republican leader when he appears to be the antithesis of the associated ideology?" First, he isn't the leader, defacto or otherwise, of any political party. That is only a lie started by obama. He isn't the leader of conservatives. And he isn't the 'face' of the conservatives or Republicans. "How is a rude, crass, thrice-divorced, drug-addicted college dropout the face of the party of family values?" He isn't. That is a lie started by obama. He spreads truth and his opinion. Nobody is forced to listen. I have a good friend, she has a Masters (actually , she has 2 Masters) and she is working on her Doctoral thesis. She also makes barely $40K per year. But according to you she is a success. Even Limbaugh and Gates are actually very far beyond financial stability, according to you they are not successes. I imagine your logic applies to Einstein as well.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't see your logic of how family values are not important to Pres. Bush because two family members are divorced. You sound like a bitter Democrat who is upset that MTV's "Rock the Vote" just irritated all the Republicans and got us out to vote, versus the 18 year old crowd that they were shooting for.

Oh, but you know soooooooo much! Have you looked up the history of, say, just for one, John Kerry? His turn-coat millionairess wife? What he did to his ex-wife? Blah blah blah... You can say NOTHING about Barbara Bush, or Laura Bush, probably two wonderful First Ladies (I would include Jackie Kennedy Onassis among the greats!) You are not proving your comments, either. Fabulous Clintons? Please expand on their wonderful family values... What did you say? I can't hear you...

He has been a very good President. He has been dealing much more difficult situations that any our other President. He is fighting for our freedom. So you can bash him!
All relationships are hard and people make mistakes. I do not know how many people could be actually happy for their and their family choices.
To be critical...that is easy.
