I have had my period, but not in the last 5 months. I stopped taking the pill in January and havent bled once since then. And i am sexually active so i wanted to know if not having my period for that long damaged my insides and my chances of ever getting pregnant. Or do i still have a chance.

i think you need to go back on the pill if your still active, but either way you need to use a condom, and most of all go to your doc, becuase each case is different, teehee

Yes, still u have a chance to get pregnant. u cannot say that all people who havnt had their periods for a long time(about 5, 6 months or an year or more) wont get conceived. wihtout knowing the exact problem and reason we couldnot conclude this issue.Go to gynec and be checked all your hormones and go once for ultrasonography.polycystic ovary, fibroids in uterus, blocks in the fallopian tubes, these are common reasons for delay in getting periods for a long duration.Once it is treated well u shall get ur periods regular n conceived soon.Don worry. This is not a damage just a temporary problem, but have to be treated as early as possible to get better n efficient results.best of luck.

No, you are probably fine. I did the same thing. by the way you shouldn't just stop taking the pill. I thought since I hadn't had a period in 7 months after stop taking tri-cycline I couldnt concieve, but when I went to ob she gave me something to jump start my period again. I got on the ring after that. I like it much better. Then a year later I got pregnant, on purpose. The ring doesnt have side effects if you stop using it.

THis condition is termed amenorrhea.
Birth control Pills are not safe. If you do a search on internet using 'Hormone replacement therapy' as a phrase you will get material which you may not be able to finish reading in this birth!
God has given us this wonderful body with good fertility, with a view that his race will always multiply. And driving this fertility engine with our chemical pills brings in several problems, some of which are discussed by this author here:

Many women are loosing this continuous once a month reminder, and then they run from this doctor to next, and unfortunately only ayurveda offers hope.

Bio identical hormones is also an answer, but find an alternative practitioner close to your area.

If you haven't had a period then you can't get pregnant. As a woman our periods let us know were fertile. I was getting the shot for 2 years and when I finally stopped taking it I waited a year for my body to finally get pregnant. You can get pregnant it's just going to take your body time to adjust. Stay away from meds to protect your self from pregnancy just use condoms that way when your ready to have children you won't have any problems.

Ok, number one, unless you lack ovaries and a uterus you can pretty much ALWAYS get pregnant, especially if your not using birth control! Second, you need to determine if you are already pregnant! Go to Walgreens and get a test to take at home. Lastly, pregnant or not you *need* to get in to see an OB/Gyn. If your not pregnant, you could have something as common as PCOS or there could be something serious going on. In any event you need to find out what's going on! Good luck!

you should have stopped taking the pill 6 months before you want to get pregnant, it takes time for your body to readjust and also getting pregnant too soon could harm the baby... good luck

pills are suppose to be safe, especially if you got them from your doctor. Try talkingto your doctor and getting a pregnancy test.
Even if you take the pill you still can get pregnant. Thats if you dont take them right.

You definitely need to talk to your gyn. In order to get pregnant you have to ovulate. I went longer than that without a period and my "insides" are just fine.
