Well I had felt miserably sleepy while driving two wheelers continuously for 19 hrs from 05.00 am till midnight with little rest every one hour or so and some how reached destination.
Walking and feeling sleepy too I have experienced when I splash cold water on face, drink strong tea or coffee and carry on till legs too fail. But a stage may come where one may collapse too , I mean fall down asleep!!!!

You fall down. I had a friend in the army fall asleep in the middle of a parade (it was a really tough week). We all thought he fainted from exhaustion/heat stroke and what have you but he stood up immediately after that. That was when we realised he had fallen asleep in mid-parade.

My kids doctors' friend fell asleep while he was walking, literally outside walking he fell asleep and fell to the ground. But the saddest thing happened, he never woke up - he passed away outside on the sidewalk. He had died due to heart failure.

it is almost physically impossible to fall asleep while walking. Your body is in motion and to sleep you need to rest unless you have stayed awake for like, a month.

This happened to me at work yesterday I was walking from one room to the next and next thing you know I fell and I knew that I had fallen asleep. I was fighting exhaustion for 2 hours until it won. Now, I have banged up my knee, jarred my hip and landed somehow on my hand to jar my upper arm. To say the least, it hurt.

Sudden onsets of sleep are associated with narcolepsy....and yes, you'd fall down.
