Image brings in the money. It's a commerical ploy to sell a product, usually the creative artwork. It's quite effective given how much these performers earn.

Bad boys/girls are attractive cos they do things that most people don't do cos of societal constraints. Ironically, the reasn artistes can do thgs to be bad boys/girls is precisely cos they're artistes - anyone else would have lost their day job!

because bad people do bad stuff,and the more outrageous stuff they do, the more publicity and attention they get equaling more money!
