He has ultimately been the fastest in the sport in the last couple of years but the reliability of the car has ended up costing him.

He has to join a decent team as the lead driver.

Just look at drivers like Sterling Moss - probably the most famous driver never to win the championship. Moss' problem was that he was racing with Fangio. There are lots of other drivers who have had this problem. It is not only his driving that is important, it is the other drivers.

However, luck and reliability need to be with him, as well as talent.

Mind you, I am sure a lot of people will disagree with you that he should be world champion!

When he will have a car that doesn't break down under his style of driving.
Those failures were probably caused, in part, by Kimi's style to push the car beyond its limit in certain moments of the race. Especially if he is behind someone like Schumacher or Alonso and he knows that the only chance he has is to catch them. That's probably the time when, most of the time, he pushes too hard.
But it's not always the case. In Suzuka, last year, he pushed in the final laps and he won the race in the last lap by overtaking Fisichella (who will become Kimi's teammate if he decides to sign for Renault).

He'll "realize his undoubted potential and win the F1 World Championship" when he moves to Renault - hopefully next season. :-D

Maybe he should drive the safety car - he'd have more lead laps in a Mercedes if he did. The constructor is just not supporting his excellent efforts.

Howard, go wash your cat or something.

Cheers!
