Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a change in the balance of bacteria that are normally present in the vagina, which can cause bothersome symptoms. BV is the most common cause of vaginal symptoms in women of childbearing age.

I got it a few years ago, and even though it was uncomfortable and smelled pretty nasty, it went away with medication and hasn't come back. The only real serious complication a woman might have with it would be when you are pregnant. During pregnancy, BV is linked to complications, such as miscarriage, early (preterm) delivery, and pelvic infection after childbirth.

Don't worry, with medication it will go away. If you are only ten, then you obviously don't need to worry about becoming pregnant yet. You'll be fine!

It is a mild infection caused by a certain bacteria. You may notice a discharge from your vagina. The discharge may be clear or colored. It may be very light or heavy. It may have a fishy smell. Some women have bacterial vaginosis without any symptoms. You would need to see your doctor for an exam and treatment.

Even though nurse Annie may have been a nurse for over 20 years, she copies and pastes all of her answers from other sources. Not only is it plagiarizing because she isn't siting the source that she used, she is violating copy right laws, and misleading the person asking the question, by acting like she knows the answer because she is a nurse. If you copy and paste, provide a link, don't act like it is your own work.
