I have wonder this because Scott Peterson was just an average person and not a famous person.

Scott Peterson was the white juxtapostion to OJ. He wasn't a celebrity, he was an "everyman." Like OJ, he killed the mother of his children. The similarities stop there. He and Laci, were nice looking so the TV images were good. We watched it for the same reason we watched Michael Douglas and Glen Close in Fatal Attraction. Scott is just an average white guy. As with most people who have an affair, particularly when the wife is at home pregnant, his version of reality went off the reservation. It was a warning sign to the rest of us. 1) Don't lose sight of reality and think that life will be great after you kill your pregnant wife and hook up with the psycho-chic who was f**king you while your wife was pregnant. 2) If you are an average white guy, you do not get off for a crime like OJ got off. It still seems that a black celebrity can work his celebrity magic on a jury - right Michael?

Because all the parties involved were rich AND White. A year prior to the case a Hispanic woman was murdered in much the same famous, it did not get any national attention. She was Hispanic and not as rich as the Petersons. Media coverage of criminal acts, they cares about the following..
- Rich and white
- Gays
- and the token minority cases to make them look balanced and like they actually care.
This is no way knocking those that are white and wealthy or Gays, this is the media's fault continuing these little bits of oppression. They are sending a message that they are not as valued in American society.

Sometimes the media starts running out of things to tell so they saw Scott Peterson and jumped on it just like with Natalie Holloway Dozens of people get Murdered by their SPOUSES (man or woman) and the same with vacationers being ubducted.

pretty people get put on tv....especially the rich ones....and once all the facts came in this story was a regular old soap opera....not to mention that some people felt that whether or not he was charged with just lacey's murder or bother her's and their unborn son's would have some weight in the abortion issue.....
