I'm in the Middle School Student Council and we need ideas on games to play at the dance party to get everyone started and into dancing. It's a school event so please, no inappropiate stuff.

We already did musical chairs (boys are chairs) and Limbo and we're all tired of it so we need fresh new interesting ideas!

You could always do the "matching dance partners by numbers" routine, which is like a raffle. Everyone has a number (with one colour for girls and another for boys), and the numbers drawn make up the couples.
Or you could introduce a bit brain power. Have a number of (not too easy, but fair) quiz questions at hand, then ask a question, and whoever has the right answer, chooses her/his partner. This can go on for some time and can be great fun as well as highly educational and entertaining.
And of course you should not forget to have a few dances where the girls pick the boys. In the olden days there was only one of the dances at each ball where this happened, and it lead many people to great surprises.

Go with old school stuff with a new twist. Even though they're old games, sometimes its fun to be a "littler" kid again. Do some ring toss on 2 liter bottle. pin the tail on the donkey, that's a fun game, they'd enjoy it, even if they wouldn't admit it. Sometimes its fun to laugh at yourselves. Use thes ideas with a dance theme twist. Of course a dance contest at the end. Hope you like my ideas.

You can play spin the bottle(Except if you don't want to do the kissing thing, you can just make the person that got the bottle spinned on do a dare)
Or you can do a dance contest/singing contest

Good dance songs...new ones and play new rap songs in the beginning to get people started...thats what we did few months ago when i was in 8th

me too im eleven and im having a house party on friday. well anyway u can do twister or dance dance revolution . my boyfriend he does spin the bottle.
