FREE is OsCommerce - Ready Made Professional Online Store / eCommerce Website, ready to go (of course you can tweak the design or find free templates).

Most hosting services have this included as part of your service, you just need to install it from your account section.

Also, FreeWebs is a free web site hosting service which has Paypal eCommerce Add-in which is VERY easy to use.

And of course, there's the Paypal shopping cart as already mentioned...

OH, and Mals eCommerce - similar to Paypal but you have way more payment, shipping, design and other options. These guys also have a free Add to Cart / View Cart button maker you can download, just enter your product details and it spits out the html code ready to paste into your web page!

OHHHHH and check out Shopify - they just opened!

There are soooo many more that I've tried, these are just off the top of my head - I'd be here for hours!

Zen Cart is also free. It is built on os commers. I found the install and setup to be a bit better than the default os-commerce.

Your webhost can often supply free store software. You can install zen-cart on any webhost that supports mysql and php and just about all support both of those.
