the 'busa is the fastest production bike, there is a bike called the Y2K(Jay Leno has one) that has a turbine motor that is rediculously fast, 250+ but I don't know if it's considered a production bike. Also Dodge created the Tomohawk, it had a viper's V-10, that one they never got a top speed on.

Fastest meaning top speed? an older Hayabusa. One mag. tested a stock unit at 197 mph!Quickest? the new ZX14.
I say used 'busa, because all motorcycles being made today are artificially limited to 186 mph, thanks to the hayabusa commercial in germany where a 'busa lane plit a porsche and another fast car traveling (The cars) at over 150mph. the big bird passed them like they were standing still!!!
a company called MR TURBO made a ZX11 with around 500 HP and it went 254 mph
the tomahawk is a joke. it hase 4 wheels, and the aerodynamics of a brick (actually WORSE than a brick!) and claims of 400 mph are IMPOSSIBLE!!
with the bad aero, it would never make it passed 210mph! It would be a death trip, though as it would start to "walk" back and forth on it's 4 tires until it crashed!

The Y2k bike has an Allison Rolls Royce jet helicopter engine. 0-227mph in 15 seconds, but after that its done. 227mph is the highest recorded top speed of the super-bike. The makers of this bike CHOSE not to have a governor on this one limiting the speed. According to the Suzuki website limit the on a Busa is 186mph. No they dont have to limit the top speed, but a lot do voluntarily to save lives. Just about all bikes can be modified to be faster than the last guys.

Okay, you guys really need to do your researching. The dodge tomahawk is claimed at over 300mph, not 400, and it has a viper V10,not v8, and since it has 4 wheels, even if it did come into production it would not be the fastest motorcycle, considering it has 4 wheels, and it is being considered for limited production also. Oh ya, with its low profile, it has alot better aerodynamics than a brick and with its wind channels, probably as good as any "busa". Before you start talking about stuff, make sure you know what your talking about.

As much as I hate to admit it I think the ZX-14 is the fastest now (1/4 mi.). The reason I hate to say that is because I own a busa.

In straight line and if you are doing strictly drag racing, then it is the Suzuki Hayabusa (1300cc) . If you are talking about a going around a race track, then it is the ,Yamaha R1, CBR1000,Suzuki GSX-R1000, but rider skills is the X -factor when racing motorcycles. Stock bikes of course.

The one the QB for the Steelers had before he totaled it last week. I believe it goes in excess of 200 MPH.
