Yes, it can work. You must want to do what the hypnotist is asking you to do. Like the stop smoking therapy using hypnosis you must ready want to quit.
Someone can make you want to do something against your will using hypnosis with halluacinogenic drugs as you are not thinking rationally while on those things.

It depends. some people are more suggestible than others so their subconscious are more easily influenced. But to be hypnotized i think even if you are highly succeptible, you need not only to relax your whole being but be open to the idea of being hypnotized
