I first really heard Indian music listening to the beatles. Ravi Shankar played on a track on Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band called "Within You, Without You". It was a song originally written by George Harrison. It's one of the few tracks with none of the beatles on record. The track has Harrison singing and Ravi playing the sitar and the swordmandel. Sublime isint the best word to describe this song! Amazing. From what I know, Indian music is very different from Western music in terms of basic music theory. You could spend a lifetime learning western music theory and then when you confront eastern music its like starting all over again. Being a westerner its obviously a novelty of sorts for me. I'm not sure where you're from or how old you are but I remember a song that was a major club hit in the early ninties. The song was called "Indian Vibes" and I can't remember the group but they were all over mtv europe at the time. It was a great tune. Ravi Shankars daughter seems to be doing well at the moment from what I can tell. "Jai guru deva ohm" as Lennon once sang

Do you mean Native American music with the drums and flutes then yes I do. It's very beautiful and even better when listened to live and in person. If you mean music from India I haven't yet.

If you want to know a very good vocal coach try to visit https://tr.im/hgOlm an online vocal coaching tutorial. Everything, ranging from breathing fundamentals, vocalizing exercises, techniques on singing high and low notes, how to not go off-key/out of tune/off-sync, musicianship and music theory, proper diction and articulation, and a lot more are covered, all in our native language. It can be quite technical in nature, but it really helps since it covers the musical aspect of singing deeply and not just concentrates on how to impress people with your vocal range, riffs and runs and other cliches that do not necessarily make one a complete vocalist.
