Extremely powerful. This is my take on the human brain. There has always been a popular myth that we only use a small percentage of our brains. That is untrue. We use 100% of our brain, but not for cognitive thinking. I imagine that a part of our brain is like a filing cabinet, and that everything we see, say and do is stored there, for retrieval at some given time. That is the subconscious. The information is there and all it takes is a trigger to release it. Dreams are the best for analyzing the subconscious as the pull out the feelings and information that we have stored, but do not use during our waking hours (because we don't feel the need for that information, or because we fear it).
Scrutinizing dreams can lead to better understanding of a person's psyche.
