The fact is, not all people are compatible with others. There's always going to be someone you don't like for one reason or another. Judging someone on looks alone is a primal instinct that resides in us all as a defense mechanism. It's been that way since the first two people encountered each other. And that "IS" the justification for that particular behavior. It's natural, so try not to take it so hard.

Perception and the human mind is such a screwy thing. You could spend hundreds of hours getting exactly the right look that you want to present the world, and spend a bundle. Cause thats basically what this comes down to, right? How strangers judge you on your appearance. If they took the time to get to know you, they might realize that you arent what you appear to be. Its too much BS, in my opinion. Just shrug it off. As long as you know what you are really about, you can just leave them all guessing. Be confident in yourself and shrug off their misconceptions. Educating the public about yourself takes too much time, effort and money.

You ask a very good question there!
Take a look now at my avatar... You see I now look all sinister... where as you obviously know otherwise, from our convo's. As soon as I go back to the other; I'll be bright and cheery Gazza again...
So peoples perceptions can be slightly twisted by someones appearance...
I'm hearing what you are saying here!!!
Anyway good answer to the kids... I mean if that is true, there where a lot of people that were not even condoning it, in there answers... now again in answer to your question... there are a few there!!! Now that is worrying!!!

Are you too sensitive to what other people think of you?
If you do not think you have done anything wrong, carry on as normal. However if there may be something behind it, ask someone what you did. Then at least you can put your side to the issue.
However, if you ignore it then it may go away. Of course, perhaps these people are not your friends - so, difficult as it may be, go and find some new ones that are not so judgemental!

I am shy and not very good at mixing with people that i do not know. People often see this as me being standoffish but that is not the case, i am genuinely shy and sometimes it is very crippling to me. I can sit in someones company and not be able to think of a single thing to say. Other times my face just goes Scarlett. That is why i love the computer so much as i can relax and be myself.

yes. i do reasonably well in school so people call me a swat even though i never study. I don't like alcohol making out with random guys, drugs or smoking so i am considered uptight. i think about things before i act and weigh up the consequences so people think i'm too serious and not fun. People don't stop and listen to me they barge in front to make themselves heard and so think i am quiet and boring. Yes this bothers me but what can i do. the people who take the time to get to know me are the people i want to listen to me.

Does it really matter?? because at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you look like or what you do there will always be someone who will judge you, and the thing is those people really have no room to judge anyone , but i say i your happy about yourself and you family and friends like you for who you are stuff the rest.

Actually on here people do! I try to be blunt and honest and it offends people (not on purpose!). I can't shrug it off very easily, so now I'm on my bestest behaviour in being polite!
(like your aviator by the way, only fools and horses fan?)

I am pretty sure that people do not know my true character. I'm pretty sure they see me in a much better light than I do. Or at least that's the vibe I get. So I'm pretty pleased about that. I'm not sure I'd want many people to truly 'know' me I'd get creeped out if they did.

If I feel uncomfortable with a comment or reaction of someone, I see it as a nudge for me to investigate why. What is it about that comment that I identify with? If I didn't identify with it, it wouldn't have bothered me...and I would not have noticed it at all!
