For a beginner I recommend a safer and larger car, this does not always corelate to good gas mileage, but it might save your life and limbs, which could be far more valuable to you in the long run.

Good gas mileage is a consideration, but low maintenace costs can be important as well. Consumer reports offers a lot of good info on selection of a good used car.

Keep in mind that young male drivers, and beginners have the highest accident rates. Please learn all you can about driving safety and use it every time you are behind the wheel. A clean driving record can save you a huge amount of money in lower insurance costs.

A used Saturn might just be a good rational choice. ( I know you may be emotionally wanting some testosterone mobile, but that is a different question) They are inexpensive to buy new and especially inexpensive to buy used. They get good gas mileage. They are relatively quite safe, especially for their size. They are easy and inexpensive to maintain. The coupes are a little sporty looking.

i think you're soreness. I unquestionably have an previous Cadillac that wont get greater beneficial than 8-13 MPG. I finally end up using it much less & much less in view that we've 2 different autos. From what I word theres lost of small autos that get good milage with extreme miles & a lot of low-milage gas guzzlers in immaculate difficulty. So get yet another motor vehicle that gets greater beneficial milage & purely rigidity that on the weekends.

I think a Cobalt would be good, or a Mustang V6. About 27 mpg highway if driven right.

If it was me I would say a jeep wrangler if you like the jeeps. They are cheap on gas and who don't like a jeep. If ya want 4x4 it's even better but if not 4x2 is okay.
