We have spent billions upon billions on a senseless war and give monies as 'aid' to other countries. The elderly can barely eat and cannot afford their medication, Katrina destroyed an entire city, people in the U.S. are hungry, our youth cannot afford college, and the poverty in America is obscene. Why are we spending so much on others rather than helping our own?

It is greed, the repuglicans are all greedy to the very last one. This country as rich as it is with all the very rich people should have a very red face for not taking care of our own. Excuses like paying somebody to set on their fat ***'s and not work is a cop out. Find a way to put these people to work and with a wage and health care good enough to take care of their family's. Do not just condemn them. Health care should be for everybody. The insurance company's need to be taking out of the mix as they are the problem. They are making a huge amounts of money off of the misery of humans. No one should be hungry in this the nation of plenty. An education is a way to life everybody up. It should be a right. It would be good for America as a whole. That is why I vote Democrat as I feel most of them do feel as I do.

We keep informed of what is going on in other countries and keep informed of all nations w/ the United Nations...it is called,"Balance of Power." We must, as one nation among many, keep up with the world and all her events to protect ourselves. Giving aid to other countries, esp in the time of crisis, is the brotherly thing to do........now for the poor in this country!

There are many 'arms' of our government. Each area has a job to do. The media believes in giving us negative statements so you will believe that nobody is doing nothing when in fact each office is working hard and trying to solve all the problems that pop up everyday. Some problems take longer than others to solve. There are positive statement for negative issues. We are a large country and we must continue to believe in ourselves. We have been told time and again that we must be self sufficient in case of disasters. Just look ard and see what is making us tick. We are feeding the poor, ie: food stamps, church pantries, Salvation Army, American Red Cross etc. We are building houses at reduced rate of rent and mortage, ie: Habitat for Humanity, Hud housing, disaster housing, ie motel/hotel, trailers, at Government expense from the taxes we pay, churches, and individuals who go beyond the call of duty to house, feed and support those in need. The new medicare part D for help to reduce medication cost. Thank Pres. Bush for that and much more too. Social Security was not meant to be the total amt. of $ necessary to retire on. It was meant to help a little. WE ARE A REPUBLIC NATION, WE ARE FREE TO CHOOSE AND WE MUST TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES AS FREEDOM DICTATES. INVEST, BORROW, SCHOOL, JOBS, SAVE etc.

There is to much that I don't even know about or to long to write here. Just believe that we are in the Best Nation there is to be in.

Where do you get your info? Sit and think what a great nation you belong too. We are able to fly aid to any where in this country or around the world at a moments notice. We are America! We are free! We do good! That is our motto. We not only have it good in the USA, ie police, fire, sewer, water, street lights, organization of roads, local, county, state and federal governments and LAWS to keep us straight for All of us to carry on a good life and be able to seek help, have a picnic in a clean park, go to a beautiful beach, climb a mountain, go to a theme park etc, etc. and drive that interstate. The internet...............what a great concept..........and we are using it to the fullest.

God Bless you, be alert, be prepared, help others.

PS: Hurricanes...I remember Camille.....why didn't New Orleans remember Camille...N.O. should have been prepared. That local and state government failed their people and the people failed themselves by NOT having a plan. Who, for the love of God, would live in the shadow of a lake that a any moment could drown you...Hurr. or not!!!!!

I agree. There are millions right here in the USA that need our assistance. There is something inherently wrong when an American citizen has to go to bed hungry, homeless, and destitute. It is completely F'ed up.

Because government panders to the notion that our image around the world is terrible, that we are just greedy, racist, sexist, bigots, and homophobes.
