It is the amount of time it takes to update the screen (typically LCD or Plasma)> The lesser the number the better it is. If you play games wtih fast moving graphics you definitely want a monitor with 8ms or less.

There are some new monitors available with a response time of less than 4ms. (8ms works well too).

8 milliseconds. That is the amount of time it takes for that paticular monitor to switch any pixel on the screen from Black to White to Black again.

it is somethign to do with response time ofthe monitor
