We had relatives living in Seerappen in the 1930s & I'm looking to find out what happened to them. Also, I am looking to obtain any type of records available to backup my family tree. Birth Records from 1892, any religious records, Military Service, or Marriage records as well. Since WW II, the name of the town is change to Lyjublino in Russia.

From all the information I've found, most of the German population left Seerappen during the war & afterwards, it became part of Russia. I don't know if any records survived, were sent to Germany, Russia, or completely destroyed.

For records that old, your best bet is to contact the townhall to see if they have birth, death, marriage records available for that period of time. If they do not, then they will direct you to where to look next.

Another source is church records. In Ireland, for example, the church maintained all the birth and death records.

Military service, I don't know what to suggest there.

Good luck!
