5'11" at 14 is fairly tall. At 148, you're not really bulky enough to play an inside position, so CB or WR would be the best position. Key element here would be speed.

Assuming that you are in 9th grade you might be too young to start on your varsity football team in your school. So until then you should try to become a little bigger and eat some protein but don't become LB size. You should also try to build muscle if you aren't that strong . When you get to weigh a bit heavier you'll be fine as a CB but what you need is speed if you don't have it. You might also want to try receiving and catching the balls because who knows you might be good as a WR also.

Cornerbacks are responsible for covering revievers (who are usually pretty tall). So if you've got the speed, I think 5'11 is a good height for CB. Especially since you're still just 14.

At 14 - you're a fine size to play cornerback or receiver.
the question is - how's your speed?

Do you know how to clutch into a trailing position?
if you're a little slow...that technique alone will put you above your peers.

If you're still slow - you might want to think about Tight end or defensive end first...until you gain some swiftness.

But you're fine for CB.

Dude don't listen to these guys, being in a hot position on a sports team is all mindset and no physique, I should know, I'm under weight, 6'01, and the baddest Goal Tender in my league.

Depends on the size of the other kids on your team if your one of the smaller guys then yes. If your one of the heavier guys then your coach might have you play line

As long as you feel like it! You can!

P.S. If any one says no, punch them smack bang in the nose, if it hurts, then you can, if it doesn't, remember what your mommy told you in case of an emergency fire : GET DOWN LOW AND GO GO GO!

OOPS, Forget about the get down low part! GO GO GO !

Try out for cornerback, but get in the weight room and try to get bigger and stronger and faster.
