I have a friend that never wants to hear about my job or how much I make even though it's no big deal.He pays child support, and that takes most of his check, but I have no kids so I have a little more.It goes with everything though I can't discuss anything around him because he starts ignoring me or trys to talk about what he's doing instead. How do I deal with someone like that?

Some people are just like this, they suffer from low self esteem and act this way to make them selves feel better. You have to decide if you want this person as a friend or not.

Do you really need a friend like that? I think the best friends are the ones who listen and not just talk about themselves. Maybe he is jelaous. If you know him for a long time and don't want to lose him, try talking to him and tell him what's bothering you. But if he doesn't mean a lot to you and if he makes you feel bad or uncomfortable - find a new friend. I'm sure you're a nice person and you deserve someone who will listen to you and support you.

i agree with pycosal about deciding if you want to keep being their friend. if the friendship is not really important then find some friends that don't make you feel so down. on the other hand, i don't like to hear about how much money my friends make. that should be something you keep to yourself. maybe the friend feels like you are trying to rub it in his face. good luck with your choices.
